3-inch feathers are most commonly used in traditional archery for lower-powered bows and for beginner or youth arrows. By reducing drag with 3″ feathers, even in these beginner bows, faster arrow speeds can be achieved compared to using longer feathers. A flatter profile in the shield shape has been used to perfectly optimize arrow stabilization and speed.
