Official Archery Championships of the RFETA
According to the regulations of the RFETA (Royal Spanish Archery Federation), all championships, grand prizes, leagues, and other approved events organized in Spain in disciplines recognized by World Archery (WA) will be governed by the rules of the RFETA.
The recognized archery championships include: Indoor and outdoor traditional archery and the Spanish championships for under-14s indoors and outdoors. Also, the Spanish Absolute 3D Championship indoors.
Official championships must adhere to an organization protocol as proof of compliance with current regulations.
Disciplines, Classes, Divisions, and Categories of Archery in Spain
The **disciplines or types of competition** outlined in the RFETA statutes are:
- Indoor archery
- Outdoor archery
- 3D archery
- Field archery
- Adapted archery
- Long-distance archery
- Archery skiing
- Archery running
The classes, **by age and gender**, are as follows:
- Under 14 years old
- Cadet, up to 17 years old
- Junior, up to 20 years old
- Senior, up to 50 years old
- Veteran, for all other ages
- For adapted archery, it will be established based on the degree of disability
The **disciplines** refer to the **type of bow** used by the athlete and are distinguished as follows:
For outdoor archery: Recurve bow, compound bow, standard bow, adapted bow, barebow, instinctive bow, longbow.
For indoor archery: Recurve bow, compound bow, standard bow, barebow, instinctive bow, and longbow.
There are also disciplines for adapted archery, 3D archery, and field archery.
The categories will be named by combining the division + class, for example: Senior Women Recurve or Junior Men Instinctive.
The Spanish Championships
The **regulations** established for the Spanish Championships allow participation from nationals or residents in Spain holding a sports license, who are not suspended and meet all the requirements of the championship.
Participation can also be with a WA member association license, but they will not be able to access eliminations or be crowned Champion of Spain.
Official championships will follow an official calendar approved by the RFETA General Assembly, and participation will require the payment of a fee set by the delegated committee.
All athletes participating in the Spanish Championships are required to undergo anti-doping controls and/or medical tests that may be requested by the RFETA and other competent bodies.
The individual uniform to be worn will comply with the WA regulations and may include advertising. If participating in a team, the uniform will be determined by the autonomous federation or club, in accordance with WA regulations, ensuring uniformity and identical advertising for all team members: participants, captains, and officials. In field archery and 3D archery, only the upper garment needs to be identical for the team. Judges are responsible for ensuring compliance with uniform regulations.
The championships held in Spain are: The Spanish Absolute Outdoor Championship, Indoor Championship, and Veteran Championship. The national club league, Spanish Field Championship, Spanish Absolute 3D Championship, Spanish Traditional and Barebow Championship, Spanish Standard Bow Championship, Spanish Cadet and Under-14 Outdoor and Indoor Championships.
Also included are the RFETA national leagues for field and 3D archery.
